Bishop Dwenger High School Stadium project involved constructing six buildings beneath the aluminum grandstands. This included all site work such as sidewalks, concrete work, and utilities. Additionally, the scope covered the installation of grandstands, bleachers, and a pressbox.
The project was slated to start mid-May and complete in time for the first home football game on 8/30/19. Three and a half months to build an entire high school stadium was an extremely aggressive schedule. To add to the tall task, shortly after mobilization, unsuitable soils were encountered subtracting two weeks. Thankfully, we had a team of an owner, architect, engineer, contractors, and local authorities 100% commit to completing the project on-time. There were other surprises like the entire property stormwater outfall being blocked and having to be completely replaced, and there being an old highway bury site discovered where the visitor bleacher that had to be remediated. But after three months filled with late nights and weekend work, the school was able to hold their first home game on 8/30/19.
